Our Trip to the Nature Centre

This week Year 2 visited the Nature Centre. We all had a very exciting day! We saw lots of different animals and learnt about what they liked to eat and where they lived. We enjoyed our nature walk around the grounds, collecting interesting leaves, conkers, pine cones and berries.

Ahoy matey!

Year 2B have had a very exciting day being pirates!

There were lots of great costumes. We read a story about living next door to pirates then wrote our own stories, imagining what it would be like to have pirates as next door neighbours! Then we learnt about co-ordinates and used them to find buried treasure on our pirate maps. After a pirate themed lunch, some of us made pirate themed book marks so we don't lose our page when we are reading our favourite books.

Charlie and Lola role play

In Literacy we are learning about stories with familiar settings.
Last week, we were reading Charlie and Lola - But I am an alligator! We used role play to think about the story as if we were the characters. Look at our role play pictures.

Don't forget it is National Talk Like a Pirate Day on Wednesday. I can't wait to see all your pirate costumes!

Welcome to Year 2B!

Welcome to Year 2B!
Miss Boughen and Mrs Humphries are looking forward to using this blog to let you know about the work we are doing this year.

We have had a busy week so far getting settled into Year 2. We have started our new topic, learning all about food! Our school trip is on the 25th September, we will be visiting the Birmingham Nature Centre. Please make sure you pay your trip money.

We have started PE lessons this week, please make sure you bring your PE kit and leave it in school.
