Trip to the Nature Centre

 

We have had a busy day having lots of fun at the Nature Centre. We learnt lots about nocturnal animals such as owls, hedgehogs and badgers. Then we walked around the Nature Centre seeing meerkats, lemurs and a red panda!

Congratulations!

Well done to these children who have completed all of their homework that has been set in Year 2 so far! Keep it up!

Police Investigation Day Photos

We found a mysterious chocolate hand print in Year 3.

The Year 2 Police pieced together a top secret letter in Year 5.

We collected sweet wrappers for evidence to help find the suspect!

Year 6 had a problem with missing ties...

Why were Mrs Dolphin's displays falling down?

Reception had a suspicious trail of paper.

Today Year 2 were very busy investigating mysterious crimes that had been reported around school..

We found out who had been eating Mrs Davies' chocolate, followed the paper trail to find Mrs Robinson's scissors, found a missing number in Reception and solved the mystery of why Mrs Dolphin's posters were falling down!

Visit from the Police

Year 2 are learning about the Police as part of our Creative Curriculum Topic. We have recently had a visit from one of the Police Community Support Officers in Stechford to talk about his job.

Our day trip to Cardiff...

Year 2 are learning all about Dr Who for our Creative Curriculum topic.

We have been doing lots of report writing about the monsters and the TARDIS and learning lots about how the television programme has changed through the last 50 years.

On Wednesday we travelled all the way to Cardiff to visit the Dr Who Experience. We got to ride in the TARDIS, fight off the daleks and hide from the weeping angels! We all thought that Cardiff was lovely and enjoyed our picnic in the sun at Cardiff Bay.

Bedtime stories... zzzzz

Today we celebrated World Book Day by coming to school dressed in our pyjamas and onesies.
We were very cosy, we shared our favourite bedtime stories with each other and some of us even had our teddies!

We have been pushing and pulling!

Year 2 are learning about Forces and Movement in Science.

This week, we went outside to explore the different forces we use when we are in the playground. We had lots of fun thinking about pushes and pulls.

We had to push on the floor to make the scooter move.

Some of us pulled on the monkey bars so that we could swing.

We had to push harder to make it go faster!

WOW Day: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat!

Year 2 are having a very exciting day to introduce our new topic 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat'.

This morning we dressed in technicolours to watch the film with Year 2F in the school hall. This week we made cinema tickets and popcorn to add to the cinema experience.

We are excited to start working towards our own performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat!
